Woolworths has confirmed the return of a popular product that quietly disappeared from its stores last year.
The supermarket announced that its Happy Chop Tearless Onions will be making a comeback exclusively to Woolworths stores in May.
Following a successful trial in NSW and Victoria last July, the onions will now be back on shelves this week and will also be available in stores across Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, and the Northern Territory. These unique onions gained attention last year for being the first variety that won’t induce tears when chopped.
Developed over decades using natural methods, including cross-breeding existing onion varieties, Happy Chop Tearless Onions have captured the interest of many consumers.
Woolworths Supermarkets’ General Manager of Fruit & Veg, Paul Turner, expressed the market’s excitement to offer them to more shoppers across the country.
