The Warriors surged to their second straight victory after an error by Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow gave them prime territory to pile on the points.
Struggling to break out of their own half, the Warriors launched a bomb kick that rattled Tabuai-Fidow, who dropped the ball just outside the Dolphins’ 20-meter line.
The home side quickly capitalized, securing back-to-back sets after a Dolphins player grazed the ball on the last tackle. Despite the Dolphins dominating in attack and possession during the first half, this error ignited the Warriors’ resurgence.
A play to the right found star winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, who charged over the line to put the Warriors in front for the first time.
“What a turning point in the game,” Phil Gould commented on Nine. “The Warriors were struggling to get out of trouble and were forced to kick from deep inside their own territory.”
