It seems PlayStation was satisfied with the pricing strategy of Arrowhead’s highly popular Helldivers 2, as their next big multiplayer shooter, Concord, is following the same model.
Revealed through the Australian PlayStation Store, Concord is priced identically to Helldivers 2, with a $59.95 digital standard edition and a $94.95 Digital Deluxe Edition.
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes 16 character skins and up to three days of early access to the game, which officially launches on August 24th for PS5 and PC. Pre-orders also come with a “Monarch Pack” DLC and early beta access for up to five players. Additionally, new heroes, game modes, maps, worlds, and weekly cinematic vignettes will be available at no extra cost.
This pricing strategy proved effective for Helldivers 2, making it more accessible and reflective of the game’s scope. While the gameplay and community engagement contributed significantly to its success, the same remains to be seen for Concord until its release.
