Report: Emerging economies poised to lead agricultural growth in the next decade

Emerging economies have increasingly influenced global agricultural markets over the past 20 years and are expected to continue this trend over the next decade, according to a new report from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2024-2033, marking the 20th edition of their joint publication, serves as the primary global reference for medium-term agricultural commodity market prospects. The report analyzes trends in the demographic and economic drivers of agricultural commodity supply and demand, projects shifts in production and consumption locations, and assesses the resulting changes in international agricultural trade patterns over the past two decades.
