Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson states that Perth is on its way to becoming the national carrier’s second-largest airport hub after Sydney, with the launch of its third direct flight to Europe.
Mini Eiffel Towers and berets were on display in Terminal 4’s departure area on Sunday to celebrate the launch of the Perth to Paris flight.
“This adds to our network out of Perth, following the great success of Perth-London and Perth-Rome,” Ms. Hudson said. “We are also investing in Perth as our western hub. We will build an integrated terminal here in Perth that will enable us to grow further when the infrastructure is completed. Perth will become our second-largest airport hub after Sydney.”
While the first direct flight from Perth to the French capital took off on Friday, the Sunday flight carrying Ms. Hudson and other VIPs was the focus of celebration to mark Bastille Day, the national day of France.
