The Australian sharemarket has closed higher for the 10th consecutive day—marking its longest winning streak since December 2015—following an overnight rise in US stocks driven by better-than-expected corporate earnings. The S&P/ASX 200 gained 16.5 points, or 0.2 percent, to reach 8027, with most sectors in positive territory, led by information technology, which was up 1.9 percent. Meanwhile, healthcare and financial stocks saw slight declines, and utilities fell by 0.5 percent.
