Tesla now pays the lowest tariff of any Chinese-made electric car in Europe after the European Commission (EC) reduced upcoming tariffs across several brands, including BMW, Geely, and Volkswagen. According to Automotive News, Teslas imported from China will now be subject to a 9 percent import tariff, significantly lower than the original 20.8 percent tariff the EC had proposed in July. This reduction follows calls from Tesla and other affected automakers to review how tariffs are calculated for each brand.
