As Mitch Marsh news saddens cricket fans, Mitchell Starc experiences a $4.4 million bounceback in the IPL.

Mitchell Starc showcased his best performance of the IPL cricket tournament thus far, claiming three wickets on Sunday as Kolkata Knight Riders dominated Lucknow Super Giants. Despite facing criticism for failing to justify his $4.4 million contract earlier in the tournament, the Australian cricket star rebounded in his signature style on Sunday.

After a challenging start with Kolkata, where he remained wicketless in three out of four initial games, the $4.43 million acquisition finally demonstrated his prowess against Lucknow. His three-wicket haul set the home side on the path to an eight-wicket victory over the Justin Langer-coached Super Giants.

In his first four matches, the 34-year-old conceded 11 runs per over while securing only two wickets. Initially, he faced some early boundaries from Quinton de Kock, but he recovered remarkably. Starc executed some economical death bowling in the 20th over, dismissing the formidable Nicolas Pooran and conceding just six runs. The final delivery of the innings saw Arshad Khan’s stumps disturbed by Starc’s trademark yorker.
