Samsung plans to introduce select Galaxy AI features to older flagship phones and tablets next month through the One UI 6.1 update, as reported by 9to5Google and Android Central, citing a post from a Samsung representative on the company’s Korean community forum. The Verge has reached out to Samsung for additional clarification.
A slightly streamlined version of Galaxy AI, excluding Instant Slow-Mo, will be made available to Samsung’s 2022 flagship lineup, including the S22 series, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Tab S8, and Tab S8 Ultra. These devices will receive the same version of Galaxy AI as the more affordable Galaxy S23 FE. Instant Slow-Mo, a feature that automatically plays a video in slow motion upon tapping, was introduced with the S24 series but is now also accessible on S23 models.
For owners of flagship Samsung phones from 2021, there’s good news. The upcoming update will bring two Galaxy AI features, Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite, to the S21 series, Flip 3, and Fold 3.
