Giant offshore wind turbines set to fuel AGL’s transition away from coal.

AGL, a leading power provider, asserts that erecting massive turbines off Victoria’s coast could deliver significant wind energy to consumers and accelerate its drive to increase renewable energy deployment ahead of the closures of its coal-fired plants. As the largest electricity generator in Australia, AGL is involved in a global consortium that recently obtained one of six federal permits. This permit allows feasibility studies to be conducted in a designated area off the Gippsland coast, where the consortium aims to establish one of Australia’s initial offshore wind farms.
