Qantas resolves a glitch following reports from app users about a widespread privacy breach.

Qantas has addressed an issue allowing users to access other passengers’ details and boarding passes on their smartphones. The airline released a statement apologizing to customers and clarified that the incident was not deemed a “cyber security incident.” According to reports, the incident occurred after an app update. Investigations suggest it was caused by a technology issue, possibly linked to recent system changes. A Qantas spokesperson stated that the problem was confined to the Qantas app, with some frequent flyers able to view the travel information of other customers, including their name, upcoming flight details, points balance, and status. However, no further personal or financial information was exposed, and customers could not transfer or use the Qantas Points of other frequent flyers.
