The ASX witnessed a 42-point increase as trading concluded on Friday.

The ASX concluded the week on an upbeat tone, achieving its most robust performance since March.

The benchmark ASX 200 surged by 42 points, equivalent to 0.6 percent, reaching a closing figure of 7,629 points on Friday.

All 11 industry sectors experienced gains, with the consumer discretionary sector leading the charge with a notable two percent increase.

This positive momentum coincided with Wesfarmers’ upward trajectory, with a 2.8 percent rise at market close. The company, known for its brands such as Bunnings, Kmart, and Officeworks, saw a favorable response following its annual strategy day held on Thursday.
