Recent flooding in Texas prompted the heroic rescue of at least 224 people and 153 pets, underscoring the urgent need for assistance in affected areas, especially with forecasts predicting more rainfall in the near future.

As rivers continue to swell across South Texas, inundating homes and businesses and displacing thousands, residents are anxiously watching the skies as the threat of more rain looms. Over the weekend, at least 224 individuals were rescued from homes and vehicles in Harris County alone, as evacuation orders and flood watches remained in effect. Sunday brought another round of rainfall, with the Houston area particularly vulnerable due to already saturated grounds. Fortunately, there have been no reports of fatalities or severe injuries. According to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, in addition to the human rescues, 153 pets have also been saved amidst the deluge.
