Stephen Rue, currently overseeing the National Broadband Network, has been named the new chief executive of Optus, succeeding Kelly Bayer Rosmarin, who stepped down last November amid intense scrutiny following an Australia-wide network outage. Optus Chairman Paul O’Sullivan praised Rue’s expertise, noting his pivotal role in establishing “the digital backbone of Australia.”
