The 2024 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, renowned as the Nürburgring record holder, has been priced for the Australian market.

Australia is set to welcome the fastest electric sedan to conquer the Nürburgring, with the arrival of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT slated for mid-2024. This high-performance electric vehicle (EV) not only excels in straight-line acceleration but also boasts impressive track capabilities.

Last year, a pre-production model of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT set a new lap record for electric sedans at the 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, clocking in at seven minutes and 7.55 seconds. This record-breaking feat outpaced its predecessor, the Taycan Turbo S, by 26 seconds and came within 2.5 seconds of the outright EV record held by the Rimac Nevara hypercar.

Priced from $416,600 before on-road costs, the Taycan Turbo GT offers formidable performance at a premium. However, it sits $42,200 above the Taycan Turbo S, yet comes in slightly cheaper than the 911 GT3, which served as partial inspiration for this track-focused EV.

With 580kW in regular drive mode, the Taycan Turbo GT boasts 10kW more power than the Turbo S. Engaging overboost pushes this figure to 760kW, with launch control further elevating it to 815kW. Moreover, shedding 75kg in weight compared to its predecessor, the Taycan Turbo GT accelerates from 0-100km/h in a blistering 2.2 seconds, 0-200km/h in 6.6 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 280km/h.
